- Research in neuroscience and the biological bases of behavior is literally exploding in new directions with the advent of promising new technologies and brain imaging techniques like fMRI. Neuroscientific evidence has the potential to provide a new vocabulary, and a new language, by which researchers and educators can converse. Unfortunately, the research literature is often ignored or unacknowledged, so educators may never realize that what they believe to be sound educational application may not actually be empirically supported by the research.
