Social Software, Smart Mobs
My research interests are in the area of social software and mobile Internet communication devices (tools that make "smart mobs"). I'm interested in students to partner with me doing anthropological studies of WSU and UI students, to better understand things like:
- How and why to they use Short Text Messages?
- How, why and where to they blog?
- How, why do they use Facebook? Are there other Social Networking tools that are also used?
For each of these kinds of questions, I'm interested in understanding if/what are the implications for learning (and maybe higher educaton), and more specifically, what the implications are for WSU.
