Shipping and Receiving

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is rarely used in ME 416. In most cases it is faster and easier to correspond by e-mail. The primary exception is ordering and shipping parts. Purchase requests should go through Jan Danforth ((Add link to purchase requests)), so be sure to give yourself plenty of flex time for the request to make it through channels. One extra business day should be sufficient. As always, be polite to Jan.

For purchase request procedures and form see Purchase Request Forms

For everything but FedEx, the mailing address to ship parts to is:

(ME 416, Your Name)
School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering,
PO BOX 642920,
Pullman, WA, 99164-2920

For FedEx, the shipping address is:

(Your name)
c/o Dr. Chuck Pezeshki
Sloan 201
Spokane St.
Washington State University
Pullman, WA 99164-2920

Do NOT send anything important or time critical by USPS. FEDEX and UPS are better options for a number of reasons. First, you are given a tracking number for the package, allowing you to keep track of where the package is. The postal service gods do not deem this to be necessary. There is a UPS facility on Grand Ave about half way between Stadium Way (Dissmores) and Main Street. FEDEX is slightly less convenient because their trucks come up from Lewiston and they don't let you schedule a delivery time, which can make deliveries inconvenient if the package is coming to your home address. (AVOID SENDING THINGS TO YOUR HOME ADDRESS. Its much better to have WSU responsible rather than you if something goes wrong with shipping.)
