Shazam has made a name for itself as being a leader in mobile music discovery. Shazams success is due to giving costumers the ability to share desired music through devices and the internet. Shazams main strength is in its availability, the program/application is obtainable through tens of millions of handsets worldwide. This music domain is a way to connect users through their musical selection. Currently Shazam is being used in 150 countries and 50 million customers and is supported by Android, BlackBerry, BREW, IPhone, J2ME, Symbian, and Windows phones. It is a privately owned company with its headquartered located in London and since in 2002, this company is expanding by the year.
Features
The features that have attracted millions of users is its music recognition technology that gives the users the ability to identify songs that are played anywhere simply by using Shazam through your phone. After music recognition has taken place, the program gives the name of the artist, album, and record label. The reason that all of this is possible is because Shazam has a library of more the 8 million songs. That have inquired techniques to identifying the songs by breaking down each track into a simple numeric code that distinguishes each track. Shazam also gives you the option to purchase the song through iTunes, view a video on YouTube, view biography and discography of the artist, and share with friends through email. In the split of a second you have all the information of an artist in the palm of you hand.
