Use of Serial Solutions to Improve Accuracy of ejournal audits

Cambridge University Press
Cambridge University Press titles are purchased as a package from Orbis Cascade Alliance starting in 2010. Prior to this time, WSU has an individual multi-year contract directly with Cambridge. Duplicate titles must be maintained; no cancellations allowed; post cancellation rights are available on Cambridge platform. From time to time, ejournals are removed from the platform.
- 10/2009 - Reconcile of three lists: ERM coverage database; Serials Solutions report for Cambridge University Press and Cambridge changes for 2010.
- Serial Solution report for Cambridge Online Journals was compared to ERM coverage edit. Titles with holdings that were more than one year different between ERM and SS were opened to see when access was available. Either ERM was corrected or a custom date was added to serials solutions. Start dates that were within one year of ERM holdings were not checked; the ERM start dates were not changed and the SS Cambridge titles were updated.
- Cambridge Online Journals from Serial Solutions can be used for future updates with the following considerations:
- Journal of advertising research 2004-2005 is missing. I sent in a request to add it to the database.

Oxford University Press
Oxford University Press titles are purchased as a package via GWLA agreement. In 2009 an extensive audit of subscribed titles was completed. In 2010, the charges will be for the database of all titles (with some exceptions noted below)with annual changes. Duplicate titles must be maintained; no cancellations allowed; post cancellation right are available on titles published by Oxford but titles that are on their platform owned by other societies have have varying post cancellation rights. Efforts are made to put titles on Portico that are removed from the platform.
- 10/2009 - Oxford University Press was updated and changes submitted on the Nov 2009 eResources monthly update. Still need to work out if I have to remove Oxford titles from the Highwire Press SS database. This reconcile is performed when the title list changes for the next year are received from Oxford or GWLA.
- Serial Solution report for Oxford Journals was compared to ERM coverage edit. All titles with holdings that were inconsistent between ERM and SS were opened to see when access was available. Either ERM was corrected or a custom date was added to serials solutions.
- No list of subscription was the start and end date was available from Highwire
- Oxford Journals from Serial Solutions can be used for future updates with the following considerations:
- Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy Supplement - There is no entry in Serials Solutions for this supplement. This would have to be added again.
- There are two links to Journal of the American Cancer Insitute Monographs
- JNCI Monographs-this is the record Serials Solutions uses
- NCI monographs-this is a second entry that WSU added.
- Not tracked on Serials Solutions
- Reports of Patent, Design and Trade Mark Cases - This title is not part of the Oxford Collection in 2010. Check in 2011 - it may be made available.

University of Illinois Press
- Nov 2009 - Title must be directly purchased from Univ of Illinois. Was not aware of new online access availability. I added online and audited titles compared to SS.
- WSU will have 7 titles online in 2010. Only 5 were available on SS. I asked them to add the following titles:
