History of the iPod
On October 23, 2001 the portable music industry was forever changed by Apple's release of the iPod. We have all slowly watched the transformation from the first generation iPod to what it has become today which is far more than any of us could have imagined. It all started with a simple scrolling wheel and a black and white digital screen, to eight years later, touch screen, music, photo, game, application and internet service all combined into one simple divice. However the first generation iPod touch was introduced in 2007 there, has already been many great improvements.[1]
Distruptive Technologies Take Over?
The iPod is easy viewed as one of the most disruptive innovations that has ever been introduced into the market. It not only has made a connection between iTunes, a music/video player for our computer, to the use of our iPod external devices as well. This music/video player computer software shich only was available on our personal computers until not very long ago when these amazing mp3 players came into existence. Now they have taken this gap between what was once only available as computer software and made it even smaller by making iPods application, game, internet, and email enabled technologies as well.

Showing iPod is still the best
Although the integration of a camera still hasn't been made we can be sure to assume that it will be something included in the 4th generation iPod touch. No one's products have ever come close to competing with what the iPod has had to offer since the beginning of its existence. With its ease of use for any user, to its extensive battery life, or its ability to hold the amount of media it does it doesn't look like there will be any competition anytime soon. As stated by Phillip Schiller, Apples senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing stated, "You get a great iPod, a great pocket computer with the industry's best mobile web browser and a great game player, all in this super-thin beautiful enclosure."[3] Its application store supports over 75,000 applications which range from everything from finding a local restaurant with ratings, to new games, to news sources updated constantly. With services such as these in a hand held device it leads us to the ultimate question what's next?
