Linking to articles and ebooks that you find within the WSU Libraries database can be fairly straightforward, depending on the database. If you are just starting out, read this FAQ on Durable Links.
CREATING A LINK TO AN ARTICLE IN Academic Search Complete (and EBSCO databases)
PLEASE NOTE, PROQUEST IS NO LONGER THE PREFERRED STARTING DATABASE FOR MOST RESEARCH AT WSU. TRY STARTING WITH ACADEMIC SEARCH COMPLETE. ON CAMPUS, THIS DATABASE WILL GIVE YOU A USABLE URL TOWARD THE BOTTOM OF THE ARTICLE. Scales 18:36, 20 November 2008 (UTC)
These instructions are intended for constructing a durable link while on a WSU campus. If you are accessing Academic Search Complete from off campus, then these instructions will not work. URLs are displayed differently off campus.
1. Use Academic Search Complete as a starting place for scholarly articles.
2. Once you have the record displayed on the screen, look toward the bottom of the page. You will see two pieces of useful information:

Although not all subscription databases allow durable links, many of them do. If you want to explore the idea of linking to other full-text databases, review the Durable_Links:_Beyond_proquest page.
