Durable Links: Article Generation

If you are creating a bibliography or list of resources for the WSU Wiki, or any WSU web page, you may be interested in the topic of "Article Generation."

By capturing the proper coding from the ProQuest Direct database, you can maintain a list of up-to-date article on any topic. It's relatively simple!

1. Access the ProQuest Direct (or Academic Search Complete, the preferred database)Scales 18:51, 20 November 2008 (UTC).
2. Conduct a search on your topic. You may have to try a few different searches to make sure your term is generic enough to pick up a wide variety of articles that are current.
3. Capture the URL that is at the top of the screen after your successful search.
4. Add the proxy script -- http://www.systems.wsu.edu/scripts/WSUAll.pl? -- to the beginning of the ProQuest URL, so that the generated articles will be available to WSU people off campus.

NOTE

While the link above still works, it will only pick up newspaper articles, because our subscription to ProQuest has changed. For more magazine and academic journal articles, use Academic Search Complete (Ebsco).

These generated URLs can be verrrrrry long. Make sure you grab the whole thing.
