WSU Solar Splash Club Constitution
Name of Organization: WSU Solar Splash Club
Purpose and Objective: To give Washington State University students the opportunity to travel across the country to compete in an international event. The competition will in turn promote Washington State University as well as the individuals who are members of the club.
Qualifications for Membership: Full Voting Member – must be a currently enrolled WSU student with at least one credit. Non-Voting Member – may be WSU faculty/staff, U of Idaho student or other adult.
The WSU Solar Splash Club is open to all regardless of race, religion, sex, age, color creed, national or ethnic origin, physical mental or sensory disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or status as an active or non-active military or disabled veteran. Sources of Financial Support: Membership Dues Fundraising Activities Sponsorship by a private business or individual
The balance of this club’s FS&A account will never be allowed to be overdrawn.
Officers: The following officers will be elected by a simple majority of voting members.
President – The President will work with the faculty advisor to plan all programs and activities and preside over meetings.
Vice-President – The Vice-President will assist the President and faculty advisor and take the place of the President in his/her absence.
Secretary – The Secretary will keep written records of meetings and activities as well as maintain an up-to-date album of photos taken during activities.
Treasurer – The Treasurer will collect membership dues, deposit dues and other income in the Controller’s Office and keep a current record of RSO funds.
Safety Representative – The Safety Representative will schedule safety meetings with each person to validate proper shop procedure and maintain a strict safety code while working in the shop.
Parliamentary Procedures: Revision of the constitution and/or addition of amendments will be voted on by a majority of full voting members. The President will vote only in the case of a tie vote. The faculty advisor, associate members, and honorary members will not vote or hold office.
