Videoconferencing in 152A

Video conferencing in 152A is set up at workstation 3.

Two projectors are used to view the incoming and outgoing video image.

The local image is generated using a Pan-Zoom-Tilt Camera with an infrared remote control.

The second projector generates the Monitor 1 image, which has the incoming video and/or application share.

Recording Video in 152A

Recording video using the video conferencing set up in 152A can be accomplished by turning the primary monitor to face the PTZ camera.

The infrared remote for the camera can be pre-programmed to zoom in to Monitor 1 (showing PowerPoint presentation, for example) and to zoom out to capture the team's image.

The USB Duet conference phone is used to record audio. (USB audio device shows up as AK574, PTZ camera shows up as Dazzle)

Room Information

Sloan 213 and EME 152A are new labs with the fastest computers. ME 103 and EME 152 have decent computers, while EME 152 yields the slowest ones. The key is to find a computer that is reliable and to save your work continuously. The computers in the slower labs have been known to reboot at random occasionally. Always save to a USB drive or disk because the information does not always stay on the computer when you out.

To Obtain new software

To order new software or software lisences contact Mike Shook ETRL 205 (printing lab). He is hard to get a hold of. The best method is to email him first and call him the next day. He should get back to your fairly quickly.

All computers are accessed by using your MME network ID and password, NOT your WSU network ID and password.
