In order to use a video game console (MS XBox, MS XBox 360, Sony Playstation 2, or Nintendo Gamecube) on WSU’s ResNet, you must register the console's physical (MAC) address. WSU does not support older modem-based consoles.

Finding the Physical (MAC) Address
The instructions for finding the physical (MAC) address for your game console are different for each system. Please consult the tutorial appropriate for your system:
- Gamecube: Finding a physical address on a Gamecube

- Xbox: Finding a physical address on an Xbox
- Xbox 360: Finding a physical address on an Xbox 360
- PS3: Finding a physical address on a PS3

Registering the Address
| Once you have the address, please visit the Console Registration Page. There, you can fill in the appropriate details. Make sure the phyiscal address is 6 pairs of digits seperated by colons, for example 01:23:4A:5B:6D
Once you have submitted the registration, your request will be emailed to the IT Security group. It will be added in within 1 - 2 business days. |
