Import Survey from Another System

There is no automatic mechanism for importing a survey from another survey system (including Silhouette (aka Flashlight Online 1.0)) but the work can be done fairly simply.

If the source system has a preview or print view or other mechanism to show the survey with as few extraneous buttons, text areas, and other controls, get the survey into that view. Taking a survey is one simple way to accomplish this. This works for MS Word or other text sources as well.

In a second browser window, open Skylight and navigate to the question editor for the survey to be created.

Switch back and froth between the two windows, copying and pasting. A little experimentation will get you in the groove.

HINT: You can copy all the leaves of a question and paste them in one action.

HINT: You can copy all the scales of a Likert and paste them, then add line breaks. No need to clean up the extra white space.
