Import New Respondent Pool using Excel format
From skylightwiki
This page applies to Version 1.3 (August 2009)
The Import button is found at the top of the Respondent Pool List page for a survey.
Excel Format (version: 97-2003 (.xls))
This option allows a batch upload of Respondent Pools and associated Respondents which supports basic properties and metadata.
Tip: There is a strict format for the Excel Workbook upload. The easiest way to learn the format is to download a sample (video demo). To download the Excel workbook template, you need to have created at least one Respondent Pool in your survey first. After this is done, export the Respondent Pool list as an Excel workbook. This will download an Excel workbook in the 97-2003 (.xls) with two sheets in the format you need for uploading. Modify this workbook directly, or make a new copy and edit it as necessary. Use the resulting workbook to import new respondent pools. Depending on Delivery Mode the the second Excel sheet is not needed (for individual respondents) and can be omitted from the workbook.
The workbook for uploading must contain two worksheets:
Worksheet 1 Title: "RespondentPools"
* Each row represents one Respondent Pool. The name in Column A must be unique.
All columns must exist, even if the values are empty.
Column A: Unique Respondent Pool Name
Column B: Expected # of Respondents
Column C: Start Date
Column D: Stop Date
Column E: Dashboard Authorization ID's (Network ID's)
Column F: Respondent Authorizations. This column only applies where the Delivery Type = 6;
Column G: Delivery Mode. Can only contain values 1,2,3,5, or 6. Refer to the table below.
Column H: Metadata. Column H and beyond are reserved strictly for respondent pool metadata only.
Worksheet 2 Title: "Respondents" (optional sheet) -- See example
* This sheet only applies to "Unique URL" Delivery Modes (if column G on the RespondentPool sheet is '2' or '3'). Each row represents one respondent (e.g. one unique email address). If there are multiple respondents for a given pool, then that pool name will be listed multiple times per row in Column A.
All columns must exist, even if the values are empty.
Column A: Unique Respondent Pool Name -- There must be an entry on the 'RespondentPool' sheet that matches.
Column B: Email address of the respondent
Column C: Reserved for future feature, leave blank.
Column D: Delivery Mode. This column only displays the value during an export, otherwise it is not used.
Column E: Metadata. Column D and beyond are reserved strictly for respondent metadata only.
| Delivery Mode Table | |
