General Introduction

This page applies to Version 1.2 (November 2008)
The Skylight Dashboard is a tool to allow Respondent Pool managers (typically course instructors during course evaluations to view the status (and get reports) of their course sections within a survey. These Respondent Pool Managers do not have access to the survey administration in the Skylight application.

Accessing the Dashboard

Respondent Pool managers log into the Dashboard to see lists surveys and Respondent Pools in which this user has Manager authorizations. At present (March 08) the list of items on the Dashboard is informational, to help communication with instructors, but its functionality will be increased.

The URL for the Dashboard is http://Skylight.wsu.edu/Dashboard
Users log in with their WSU Network ID or WSU Friend ID

The Icons on the Dashboard provide the

  1. Survey URL link
  2. Preview of the survey, with metadata in displayed in context
  3. Printing of the survey
  4. Response rate data and link to report of users who completed the survey

Authorizing Users to See Respondent Pools

The Dashboard is a viewing tool only. Management of the Dashboard is accomplished by the survey author from the Respondent Pool List inside Skylight.

The Dashboard is a viewing tool only. Management of the Dashboard is accomplished by the survey author inside Skylight.

The controls are found on the Dashboard Properties page. For each of the Quick Report and the User Completed Report there are four options for when to show the report:

  1. Always show (default)
  2. Never show
  3. Show after a specific date
  4. Show after the survey (or respondent pool) stop date

Each of these features can be enabled or disabled by the survey owner

  1. Manage start/stop dates for this pool (implementation date not determined)
  2. Add additional survey questions for this pool (implementation date not determined)
  3. Manage metadata for this pool (implementation date not determined)
