How to Password Protect Your Computer On Resume From Your Screen Saver

How to Add a 15-Minute Timeout

For Windows XP:

Right click on your desktop to open a drop down menu. Select Properties as shown in the image below.

At the top of this new window you will find some tabs, find the one that says Screen Saver and select it.

To Password Protect On Resume

To prompt for a password after exiting out of the screen saver, select "On resume, password protect"

To Add a 15-Minute Timeout

A Timeout is the time your computer screen waits before turning on your screen saver.

To set a timeout, find the place located between "Wait:" and "minutes" and use the arrows to find 15 to set it so that your computer will wait 15 minutes before turning on the screen saver.

After all is done, select OK at the bottom of the screen saver menu to save your options.

Windows Vista

Right click on your desktop to open a drop down menu. Select Personalize as shown in the image below.

In the Personalization window, select the link Screen Saver.
