Updating Filters in Apple Mail

It is possible to use filters in Apple Mail to automatically move mail to a folder when it is delivered. If you have old filters that move Listproc mail, this tutorial will show you how to change these rules to reflect Mailman.


These screenshots were taken on a Macintosh running OS 10.4. Your computer might look slightly different.

Changing Filters

1. Open Apple Mail and go to “Mail” and select “Preferences”

2. Click on “Rules” and select the rule that you want to edit, then select the “Edit” button

3. Change the email address to reflect the new Mailman list name and hit the “OK” button to save changes

4. Hit the “Yes” button when asked if you want to apply the rules to open mailboxes

5. Close the “Rules” window
