Through the MSDNAA program, current WSU students are eligible to download a free copy of Windows Vista Business.

Networking Microsoft VPN (PPTP) Working Setting up a VPN dialer for Windows Vista
Networking Cisco VPN Client (Ipsec) Broken Cisco has provided a beta version of the Cisco VPN client, but testing by SCS reveals it is very buggy. We will continue to test clients as they are released.
Networking Cisco Clean Access Working
Networking Joining computers to Active Directory Working Testing shows this is possible, however this needs to be documented.
Web Services WebCT Broken WebCT requires an older version of Java (JRE 5.0 release 8), but Vista can only run release 11. CTLT recommends users of WebCT hold off on upgrading to Vista until this issue is resolved.
Web Services Unified Signin Working There was concern that closing IE7 does not close all active versions, keeping the Unified Signin cookie alive. However, initial testing shows that closing IE7 properly kills the session cookie and logs a user out.

Obtaining Antivirus

Users at WSU who running Windows Vista are still required to install and use an antivirus program. WSU students can download a copy from the SCS Software Library. Faculty/Staff should contact their system administrator for a copy.

Obtaining Vista

Current students can download a free copy of Windows Vista Business Edition from MSDNAA. If you have problems with this download, please email msdnaa@wsu.edu. Pullman students can also visit the SCS Technology Labs to purchase a DVD.
