Initializing your web space

Please note: WSUnix accounts can no longer be created by users. People interested in creating a personal web space are encouraged to instead use mySite. For more information, please contact the IT Helpdesk. These instructions are presented here for reference and legacy support only.

To initialize the web space for a WSUnix account...

1. telnet or SSH into the account.
2. when the command line apprears, enter new_www
3. press enter.

Your webspace is now initialized and ready to accept content.

Note: This initialization script if run a second time will erase the content contained within the HTML folder. This will delete any existing content in your webspace, so be sure to back up your folder before doing this if you want any of those pages.
