Finding the physical address in Macintosh OS X is different, depending on the version of the operating system you are using.

Mac OS X 10.3 and higher
- For the Ethernet (wired) MAC address:
- Select "Built-in Ethernet" from the "Show" Pop-up menu View
- Select the "Ethernet" tab View
- The number next to Ethernet ID is a 12 digit hexadecimal number separated by colons (in the form XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX). This is the computer's Ethernet (wired) MAC address
- For the AirPort (wireless) MAC address:
- Select "AirPort" from the "Show" Pop-up menu View
- Select the "AirPort" tab View
- The number next to AirPort ID is a 12 digit hexadecimal number separated by colons (in the form XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX). This is the computer's AirPort (wireless) MAC address
Mac OS X 10.2 and lower
- From the Apple Menu, select "System Preferences".
- Select the "Network" icon
- For the Ethernet (wired) MAC address:
- Select "Built-in Ethernet" from the "Show" Pop-up menu.
- Select the "TCP/IP" tab
- The number next to Ethernet ID is a 12 digit hexadecimal number separated by colons (in the form XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX). This is the computer's Ethernet (wired) MAC address.
- For the AirPort (wireless) MAC address:
- Select "AirPort" from the "Show" Pop-up menu.
- Select the "TCP/IP" tab
- The number next to AirPort ID is a 12 digit hexadecimal number separated by colons (in the form XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX). This is the computer's AirPort (wireless) MAC address.
