A web site maintained by Microsoft with the purpose of distributing updates to Microsoft products quickly and easily. The site will detect any compatible software on your computer and their update status. It will then suggest a list of critical updates and offer any optional ones you may lack.

Windows Update is currently only compatible with Internet Explorer. To use Windows Update go to http://update.microsoft.com and follow the on screen instructions.

Hint: Windows XP automaticly creates a shortcut to Windows Update at the top of the "All Programs" list, which will always use Internet Explorer, regardless of your current default web browser.
