Blackboard Learning System CE, eLearning at WSU, offers a Get Files" dialog as part of the "My Files" and "Course Files" areas. Within "Get Files", a "My Computer" icon permits files to be uploaded from your computer to the eLearning server. The methods for all supported browsers and for both Windows and Macintosh are the same.
Using "Get Files" and "My Computer"
Uploading to the "Course Files" area
- Within your course, click on the "Build" tab near the uppper-left corner of the page. Then, in the toolbar on the left side of the page, under "Designer Tools", click on "File Manager". You will see a page that has three panes: on the left, the course toolbar; in the center, a display of folders within the Course Files area, with "+" to indicate that a folder can be expanded; on the right, a list of files and folders.

- Click on folders to navigate to the folder to which you wish to add files. If you need a new folder, click the "Create Folder" button.
- When the right-hand pane displays the folder to which you wish to add files, click the "Get Files" button. A new "Content Browser" window will open:

- Click on the "My Computer" icon. You will see seven boxes, one for each file you may upload in this step.

- Click the top "Browse" button. A "Choose File" box will open listing files on your computer.

- Navigate to the file you wish to upload, select it and click "Open". The "Choose File" box will close, and the "path" to the file on your computer will appear in the top text box in the "Upload Files" window.

- Repeat up to 6 times, each time using a new "Browse" button to choose a file and put its path in the corresponding text box.
- When you have selected all the files you want to upload (up to 7), click "OK". The Content Browser window will close, and the files will appear in the File Manager window.
Uploading to the "My Files" area
- If you are not on your My eLearning Classes page, go there using the link at the top of the page you are on, or using the "My eLearning Classes" tab beneath the eLearning logo.
- Click the "Content Manager" tab under the banner at the top of the page. You will see a three-pane window just like the one described above.
- Follow the procedure above to upload files to your "My Files" area.
