Mozilla Firefox is an open source web browser for Microsoft Windows, Macintosh OS X, and Linux. It is based off of an older version of Mozilla, and has become the 2nd most popular web browser on the internet. Firefox supports tabbed browsing, and full CSS support.

Firefox 2

Notes

Firefox version 2 was released in late October 2006. Changes include a modified user interface, improved accessibility for screen readers, and session restore.

Supported WSU Systems

  • WebCT WebCT now supports Firefox 2.0
  • WSU Wiki - Initial tests have shown that Firefox 2 has no issues with WSU Wiki. However, if you have any issues, we encourage you to fill out a CTLT Support Request with details of the error.
  • myWSU - Initial tests have shown that Firefox 2 has no issues with myWSU. However, if you have any issues, we encourage you to fill out a CTLT Support Request with details of the error.

Check Browser

Run the Browser Check (click this Check Browserlink, then select "Check Browser" in the left hand menu) to ensure that your browser is configured so the complete functionality of the eLearning application is available to you. For each area checked, mandatory or recommended changes are indicated.

  • WebCT (Mac OS X users only) - Minor issues with Firefox 1.5 keep WebCT from functioning properly. WebCT recommends that users run Firefox 1.0
  • WSU Connect! - People who use Connect! webmail (found at https://connect.wsu.edu) are only able to use Basic mode with Firefox.
