Creating RSS Readers

From ctowiki

Jump to: navigation, search

RSS feeds are a kind of headline service provided by news sites, blogs, and other rapidly-changing web sites.

If you would like to display headlines on your MySite home page, you can add a viewer web part -- either Microsoft's "RSS Viewer" or Smiling Goat's Feedreader. Either can be added just like any other web part using [Managing_Webparts_in_your_mySite#Adding_a_Webpart|this procedure].

Feedreader supports reading multiple feeds, displaying titles or titles and descriptions, and other filtering options.

You can display one or more feeds, separate each feed URL with a semi-colon (;). (Don't end the last feed with the semi-colon.)

Note that neither "RSS Viewer" nor "Feedreader" can access RSS feeds which require a login for access.
