Using Grading Form Rubrics

Creating the grading Form

In the learning system you can create a rubric used for grading assignments and discussions. The rubrics are created using the tool called grading forms. This tool is found in the build mode under the designer tools in the course menu at the left of the screen.

You can define the rubric to have custom scales and items for feedback.

Attaching a grading form to the assignment tool

In build mode, create an assignment. During the creation, a section called Grading appears. If you want a grading form to be associated with that assignment, check allow the assignment to be graded. Then select the radio button called grade by grading form. You will be prompted to select the grading form from those you previously created for the class. Always choose save to save the assignment. See the screen shots below for the 3 steps described above.

If the assignment already has been created, choose edit properties from the action link and you can associate the rubric with that assignment. Note you cannot change assignment parameters on those assignments with previous submissions by students.
