Antivirus scan

From ctowiki

Jump to: navigation, search

This refers to instructing an antivirus software to actively look for infections and viruses on your computer. Most antivirus run a passive scan designed to provide some protection without impacting your system performance. A full scan is far more likely to discover any threats; however it is an intensive process which could take some time. This process is also highly dependant on the update status of your software. If your antivirus is expired or out of date, its ability to detect threats may be severely compromised.
